Nandita S. Mani, PhD, MLIS, CST
Nandita's professional background encompasses a doctorate in Instructional Technology (where she specialized in instructional design and performance improvement), Masters in Library and Information Science, and a background in Computer Systems Technology. Nandita has nearly 15 years of experience in the information science arena where she has worked in both academic and hospital-based settings where she specialized in instructional design, development, and evaluation.
Reporting to the Director and AUL, Nandita leads the Academic and Clinical Engagement unit at the Taubman Health Sciences Library at the University of Michigan and provide leadership and management of curriculum and research integration as well as collaboration on interprofessional education initiatives for UM health sciences schools. Currently leading a team of Informationists that, through active partnerships, facilitates collaboration with faculty via participation on systematic reviews and research grants, curriculum design, development, and evaluation, integration of educational pedagogy, and utilization of emerging technologies to effectively disseminate information.
Collaborating partners include faculty and staff part of the health sciences schools including Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, and Public Health. Integration in the health sciences school takes on the form of engagement and expertise as stakeholders develop, teach, and assess face-to-face, blended/hybrid, and fully online courses. Focus includes the mission of building and sustaining partnerships in order to successfully create valuable learning experiences that result in improved learning outcomes and to effectively contribute to the clinical and research enterprise.
