Background

Nandita has a doctorate in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University where she specialized in instructional design and performance improvement (i.e., via needs assessment and evaluation).  She also received her Masters of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University.  Nandita has over 10 years of experience as a Medical Librarian in an academic health science setting as well as a teaching hospital where she specialized in instructional design, development, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Nandita leads an Enabling Technology core within the Taubman Health Sciences Library at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where she provides leadership and management for the enabling technology program including but not limited to: identifying both instructional and non-instructional interventions to facilitate learning and performance. integrating instructional design methods and strategies into health science curricula, supporting active and engaged learning, investigating mechanisms that support optimal delivery of just in time learning, and consulting on the development of needs assessments and program evaluations.
 
In this role, she collaborates and consults with library and UM health system faculty and staff as they develop, teach, and assess face-to-face, blended/hybrid, and fully online courses. She consults on the design and development of learning initiatives and implements best practices in the use of emerging technology tools and applications; all with the mission to build and sustain partnerships in order to  create learning experiences that result in successful student outcomes.

Nandita also provides curriculum integrated instruction for the Medical School as well as builds partnerships with faculty, residents, and fellows in designated clinical departments in the health sciences
