Nandita's professional background encompasses a doctorate in Instructional Technology (where she specialized in instructional design and performance improvement), Masters in Library and Information Science, and a background in Computer Systems Technology. Nandita has over 10 years of experience in the information science arena where she has worked in both academic and hospital-based settings where she specialized in instructional design, development, and evaluation.


Nandita leads a Curriculum Integration & Innovation core within the Taubman Health Sciences Library at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where she provides leadership and management for: designing new health sciences curricula around evidence-based medicine, identifying appropriate interventions and instructional design methods to facilitate learning and performance. investigating mechanisms that support optimal delivery of just in time learning, and consulting on the development of needs assessments and program evaluations.
In this role, she collaborates and consults with library and UM health system faculty and staff as they develop, teach, and assess face-to-face, blended/hybrid, and fully online courses. She consults on the design and development of learning initiatives and implements best practices in the use of emerging technology tools and applications; all with the mission to build and sustain partnerships in order to  create learning experiences that result in successful student outcomes.

Nandita also provides curriculum integrated instruction for the Medical School as well as builds partnerships with faculty, residents, and fellows in designated clinical departments in the health sciences.  She is currently part of the Scientific & Clinical Foundations (Trunk), Interprofessional Education, and Assessment & Evaluation workgroups which provide input on curriculum design and integration opportunities for the new medical school curriculum.
