Mardi Link’s true-crime story about a missing nun up north, Isadore’s Secret, was selected to become part of the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association’s Great Lakes, Great Reads program. This means wide promotion of the book across a chunk of the Midwest, and is especially notable because the state of Michigan—and university presses—are not often on their radar.

Thanks to all who came to Monte Nagler’s UM Press Author Series talk on “Photography Around the World” this past Wednesday. The next presentation in the series will be the editors and authors of The Changing Environment of Northern Michigan on Monday, February 22, from 5:30-7 p.m., talking about the changes in plants, animals, and the environment that the UM Biological Station has seen over the last 100 years. Once again, this presentation be in the Hatcher Gallery/Room 100.

Knute Nadelhoffer was interviewed by Bob Eccles at WEMU this week about The Changing Environment of Northern Michigan. Listen at http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wemu/news.newsmain?action=article&ARTICLE_ID=1599449.
