UGL Instruction Request Form Thank you for choosing library instruction for your class!
Faculty may wish to assign Searchpath @ The University of Michigan, a self-paced Web tutorial designed for undergraduates and anyone who would like
an introduction to doing research at the U-M library.
There are six 15-20 minute modules that can be reviewed individually or as
a sequence. The modules are:
- Starting Smart: why you should use the library versus the public web
- Choosing a Topic: topic selection and how to identify keywords
- Using MCAT: how to search MCAT
- Finding Articles: how to use article indexes to identify articles on a
given subject
- Using the Web: how to use and evaluate the Web
- Citing Sources: how to cite sources, avoid plagiarism, and comply with
copyright guidelines.
You can assign Searchpath to your students, and have them take the quizzes at the end of each section in order to evaluate their understanding of research concepts. You can also continue to have more traditional library sessions here at the library by submitting an instruction request below:
