Finding Scholarly Articles

You will need to find a journal article relating to your topic in the scholarly literature of anthropology. Find a recent scholarly research article on this topic (written since 1995). This article must be from a peer reviewed journal, not a popular magazine. It must be based on actual field research and not a review of other research.

The following section will show you how to search in Anthropology Plus using the example topic "food taboos."

Anthropology Plus is an index (database) of the literature of anthropology and archaeology that combines the Anthropological Literature produced by Tozzer Library at Harvard and the Anthropological Index from the British Library's Museum of Mankind Library.

The easiest way to access Anthropology Plus is from the UGL's scholarly resources page. Or go to Search Tools Find Databases; enter Anthropology Plus in the search box.

You can click Anthropology Plus to start a session or just follow along with the tutorial for now.
