Why should you use
Peer Information Counseling?

If you need help with research skills or information handling, then PIC can be a useful resource. The U of M Library collection is housed in over 20 different libraries, with over 6 million items. Peer Counselors can help you find just what you need to use, effectively and cheerfully!

What does Peer Information Counseling Offer?
PIC offers drop-in help for students with questions about a library assignment; one-on-one appointments with a peer counselor or librarian to work on your term papers or assignments; and personal tutorials in using MIRLYN and the myriad of electronic resources at the library.

Where and when can you use Peer Information Counseling?
We’re right near the Diag at the Shapiro Undergraduate Library Reference Desk. Also, we can come to you. PIC staff can work with groups in residence halls and elsewhere on campus to provide assistance in information management. You can come whenever you need to! Just drop by or call the Reference Desk at 763-4141. PIC staff are at the Reference Desk most weekday afternoons and evenings.
