Shakespeare, William (1564-1616)
Shakespeare, also spelled Shakspere, is also known as the Bard of Avon or Swan of Avon, is often called the English national poet and considered by many to be the greatest dramatist of all time. Aside from his work as a dramas, he proved an innovative poet in the sonnet form and was famous during his own time as an actor.
