The Document Type Definition (DTD) for the converson of EEBO texts
was finished. The DTD and the discussions that produced it are
available here.
July, 2000
Representives from partner institutions and other interested organizations
met at ALA in Chicago to discuss the status of EEBO-TCP. Participants
at two separate sessions shared ideas on topics ranging from possible
strategies for expanding the partnership base to ways of increasing
public awareness of its text encoding efforts. In addition, those
in attendance compared notes on how EEBO is being used on their
campuses, as well as what instructional materials might make EEBO
and its encoded texts a more powerful tool for teaching and research.
The merits of a users' electronic discussion group were also debated.
