The Governing Board of the EEBO-TCP met in Washington at CLIR to set long- and short-term goals for the EEBO project. Issues of marketing, TCP organization, and production were on the agenda; more details are available in the meeting's minutes.

March 2, 2000
A task force convened at CLIR in Washington to develop encoding instructions for text conversion agencies working on the EEBO project.

March 30, 2000
A group convened at the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) at Washington to decide on a selection criteria that will define a subset of the EEBO image corpus to be converted to full text. January 17, 2000
A group of approximately 30 Librarians came together at ALA to offer comments about selection criteria that would govern the EEBO-Text Partnership effort. The purpose for the ALA gathering was to give partners and potential partners a chance to hear the ideas of those who have already given thought to this and to offer their own thoughts about what would make sense from the perspective of their institution.
