May 3, 2000
The Governing Board of the EEBO-TCP met in Washington at CLIR
to set long- and short-term goals for the EEBO project. Issues
of marketing, TCP organization, and production were on the agenda;
more details are available in the meeting's minutes.
March 2, 2000
A task force convened at CLIR in Washington to develop encoding
instructions for text conversion agencies working on the EEBO
project.
March 30, 2000
A group convened at the Council on Library and Information Resources
(CLIR) at Washington to decide on a selection criteria that will
define a subset of the EEBO image corpus to be converted to full

January 17, 2000
A group of approximately 30 Librarians came together at ALA to
offer comments about selection criteria that would govern the
EEBO-Text Partnership effort. The purpose for the ALA gathering
was to give partners and potential partners a chance to hear the
ideas of those who have already given thought to this and to offer
their own thoughts about what would make sense from the perspective
