Building Entrances
All exterior entrances to the Duderstadt Center are ground level and are equipped with automatic doors. The entrance from the Pierpont Commons connector is ground level but does not have automatic doors.

 

 

Elevators
Public elevators are located at the north side of the building by the Atrium entrance. However, these elevators only provide access to the Basement, 1st and 2nd floors. To go to the 3rd floor, take these elevators to the 2nd floor and then go left at the Circulation & Reserves Desk (the large circular desk located in the center) then through the left set of automatic glass doors to the east elevators.

 

 

Computers
All computer workstations are wheelchair-accessible. Computers are available on the basement level, 2 nd and 3 rd floors. There is also an “Ergopod” station located in the northeast corner of the 2 nd floor. Go to the Adaptive Technology Computing Site website for more information on the use of the Ergopod.

 

 

Navigating the Stacks
Library materials are located on the basement level, 2nd and 3rd floors. All aisles are wheelchair accessible with the exception of some of the basement aisles. Contact the Circulation and Reserves desk located on the 2nd floor for assistance (734) 647-5747. A campus phone is located on the side of the basement help desk.

 

Study Space

There are study areas accessible to patrons in wheelchairs on the 2nd floor. There are also private study rooms on the 2nd floor that are available by advanced reservation.

 

 

Restrooms
All public restrooms are equipped with stalls and fixtures designed for wheelchair access and are located as follows:

Basement: East and West sides of the building (men’s and women’s)

1st Floor: East and West sides of the building (men’s and women’s)

2nd Floor: East and West sides of the building (men’s and women’s)

3rd Floor: East and West sides of the building (men’s and women’s)

 

 

Accessible Parking Areas
Accessbile parking for persons with disabilities are located on Bonisteel Boulevard near the Pierpont Commons.
