Check out our theme for June, plastic. Book topics range from art projects to environmental issues to designing plastic for construction. The display will be on the 2nd floor of the Duderstadt Center all month.
Each month, the theme table (on the second floor of the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library) highlights some amazing books in the library's collection. This month's theme is Asia and the Pacific (in celebration of Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month).
The ASM Failure Analysis Center features over 1000 case histories along with authoritative handbook information on failure mechanisms and analysis methods. The Failure Analysis Center enables you to find specific information to help you quickly solve your own failure analysis or materials performance issues.
ASM Failure Analysis Center content areas:
Case Histories in Failure Analysis, featuring more than one thousand case histories for a broad range of materials, environments, and industries.
ASM Handbook, Volume 11, Failure Analysis and Prevention, featuring the complete content of the most comprehensive reference book available on failure analysis.
The Micrograph Database is a comprehensive collection of more than 4,000 micrograph images and associated data for industrially important alloys. Information captured for each image includes material designation and composition, processing history, service history, metallographic preparation/technique, magnification, significance of the structures shown, selected materials properties data, and other relevant data. Users can examine images, look for typical or optimal structures, or compare the effects of alloying or heat treating regimes on microstructures.
Search across ASM property data, performance charts, and processing guidelines for specific metals and alloys. Includes five content areas:
Data Sheets & Diagrams: Features thousands of documents in PDF format, including material data sheets from Alloy Digest and other ASM publications; heat treating data sheets from the Heat Treater's Guides; and time-temperature curves, creep curves, and fatigue curves. All organized by alloy and fully searchable.
Alloy Finder: Features alloy designations and trade names from around the world. Find key information, including composition, producer, tensile properties, and similar alloys.
Materials Property Database: Features mechanical properties, physical properties, and processing characteristics for most industrially important alloys. Find data plotted over a range of temperatures.
Coatings Data: Features detailed information for commercial coating processes. Search by trade name, manufacturer, process type, coating type, or key words.
Corrosion Data: Features corrosion information for specific alloys in specific environments. Search by alloy or environment.
Complete online access to McGraw-Hill's Engineering Handbooks. This resource has powerful search tools, global engineering news, interactive tables and graphs, instructive videos and student study guides and time-saving curriculum guides.
PubMed Central® (PMC) is a free archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). In keeping with NLM’s legislative mandate to collect and preserve the biomedical literature, PMC serves as a digital counterpart to NLM’s extensive print journal collection. Launched in February 2000, PMC was developed and is managed by NLM’s National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).
PMC has material dating back to mid- to late-1800s or early 1900s for some journals.
This database offers deep indexing that uncovers high-value tables and figures from thousands of scholarly research and technical literature titles, spanning a wide range of subject areas including materials science, aerospace, engineering, computer science, electronics, telecommunications and physics. The database currently includes millions of tables & figures from various published works.
