Shapiro Design Lab

Shapiro Library
First Floor
Ann Arbor, MI 48109
(734) 647-1926 (p)

The University of Michigan Libraries is excited to launch a new Design Lab on the First Floor of the Shapiro Library this coming Fall. Located at the intersections of digital scholarship and engaged learning, the Design Lab will provide students, faculty, and staff a place to incubate new projects and new ideas for the entire range of learning that happens at Michigan. The ever-evolving and iterative space will host course labs, workshops, hackathons, consultations, and more, with the goal of fostering new and innovative educational experiences. The space will be a hub for Libraries’ expertise in the entire lifecycle of a project, from idea generation to publication and preservation. In addition, it will foster new educational opportunities around critical digital literacy, building on the information literacy expertise of the Libraries. Our hope is for the Shapiro Design Lab to actively build a community at the forefront of transformative learning experiences at the University of Michigan.

We want your voice in shaping what the Shapiro Design Lab could be. Please fill out this survey or tweet at us with #shapirodesignlab.
