The research collection of the University of Michigan, Museum of Zoology, Division of Reptiles and Amphibians is worldwide in scope and, as of the annual report 2006-2007, contains 238,000 catalogued lots representing 428,517 individual specimens (1,064 genera and 5,266 species) of which 13,516 are skeletons. This collection contains over one thousand images of individual specimens within the collection.

This BioOne bibliographic database is an indexed and fully-searchable collection of abstracts that link to the fulltext articles available from the BioOne organization. BioOne provides a unique aggregation of over 65 high-impact bioscience research journals from more than 50 publishers. Additional publishers and journals will be added over time, and the aggregation will ultimately encompass over 200 bioscience titles. These titles are produced by societies and non-commercial publishers and a majority were previously available only in printed form. BioOne was developed by the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS), SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition), the University of Kansas, the Greater Western Library Alliance, and Allen Press. The organization is committed to a non-profit objective of disseminating important, scholarly information focused on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences by recovering costs while ensuring sustainability.
