SimplyMap is a web-based mapping application that allows you to create thematic maps and reports using demographic, business and marketing data. Data can be downloaded for use with other software such as Excel and GIS.

A multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes 1,700 journals spanning 50 disciplines.

This site allows one to access over 1,000 local municipal codes from almost all states. Seach by state and locale.

Urban Studies Abstracts includes bibliographic records covering essential areas related to urban studies, including urban affairs, community development, urban history, and other areas of key relevance to the discipline. Records are selected from many of the top titles within the discipline.

Indexes over 5,000 journals and magazines covering all fields and topics, academic and popular, beginning as early as 1971.  Provides full text for articles from over 3,600 of these journals and magazines.  Includes a diversified mix of scholarly journals, trade publications, magazines, and newspapers designed to cover the top 150 core academic subject reference areas extensively.

Devoted to the rapid dissemination of research in the areas of accounting, economics, financial economics, Latin America, and legal scholarship. Includes email abstracting service and searchable database of abstracts and working papers. We subscribe to most, but not all the fee-based publications in SSRN. If you are a current UM affiliate, please check in MIRLYN or with library staff before purchasing any papers--we can usually get any paper you need free of charge.

NEW: in November 2012, the SSRN launched the Anthropology & Archaeology Research Network.  The AARN includes 14 new e-journals, free through May 2013.

Sanborn maps, large-scale plans of a city or town, were created to assist fire insurance companies assess the risk associated with insuring a particular property. This collection includes 660,000 maps of more than 12,000 American towns and cities.
