Provides full-text access to a wide range of news, business, legal, and reference information, including hundreds of U.S. and foreign newspapers, legal and business publications, wire services, broadcast media transcripts, and trade/news magazines.

1980 - (but varies by title) Over 5,900 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications.

SciTech Connect is a portal for Department of Energy (DOE) sponsored R&D results including technical reports, bibliographic citations, journal articles, conference papers, books, multimedia and data information. SciTech Connect is a consolidation of two core DOE search engines, the OSTI Information Bridge and the Energy Citations Database. SciTech Connect incorporates all of the R&D information from these two products into one search interface. SciTech Connect was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) to increase access to science, technology, and engineering research information from DOE and its predecessor agencies.

American FactFinder is an online source for accessing population, housing, economic and geographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Data available include: Decennial Census of Housing and Population - 2000 and 2010 Results from each of these data programs are provided in the form of data sets, tables, thematic maps, and reference maps.

2000-

Searchable protein and nucleotide databases, "free" from NIH. Includes genetics information from Medline, GenBank, EMBL, DDBJ, PIR, SWISS-PROT, PRF, and PDB.

1992 -

A retrospective database providing full-text access to the archives of core legal journals and other legal materials.  Includes federal laws, regluations, case law, and reports and opinions of the U.S. Attorney General, and more.

Dates of coverage vary by journal title (all are from first issue to at least 1917).

Full text of Presidential, Executive Branch, and Congressional documents since World War II declassified under the Freedom of Information Act. Subjects include foreign relations, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, civil rights movement, assassinations, etc.

1945 -

Contains over 800 tables of sample demographic, social,economic,and housing data collected from the 2000 Census. Geographic levels range from state to census tract or block group. May select, report, and map data. Maps may be exported to GIS programs.

Provides citations to U.S. federal government publications. Contains references to books, reports, studies, serials, maps and other publications. Topics covered include finance, business, demographics, foreign relations, public health and social issues.

1976 -

Tracks legislative action on environmental, energy and natural resources issues. Covers Congressional appropriations, hearings, markups, bill introductions, floor actions, and more. Users can sign up for daily email alerts of important news stories.
