Portuguese Language and Literatures

Published by the MLA, James L. Harner's Literary Research Guide offers information about reference sources for doing research in all areas of literary studies. The electronic edition of the Guide, based on the fifth print edition, allows you to look up materials in WorldCat, Google Books, and your library’s online catalog. Use the personalization feature to save searches and individual entries and to write notes about them for later reference. Since the initial release of the electronic edition in 2009, the author has revised the Guide twice a year. The online Guide, which will continue to be updated and revised regularly, now includes over 1,000 entries; refers to nearly 1,700 additional books, articles, and electronic resources in annotations; and cites more than 700 reviews.

Over 62 million records describing books, periodicals, sound recordings, videos, musical scores, archival materials, maps, electronic resources, and much more, in over 400 different languages. Shows what materials are held by over 57,000 libraries worldwide (including most libraries in North America, and the national libraries of Australia and many Western European countries). Incorporates all records from the Research Libraries Group (RLG) Union Catalog (RLIN).

Combined access to the American Film Institute (AFI) Catalog, Film Index International (FII), and the FIAF International Index to Film Periodicals databases. Project Muse provides full-text versions of scholarly journals from many of the world's leading university presses and scholarly societies, with over 120 publishers currently participating. UPCC Book Collections on Project MUSE, launched in January 2012, offer book-length scholarship, fully integrated with MUSE's scholarly journal content.  The Project Muse platform allows searching of books and journals in one place and at the same time and offers alerts and social networking options for sharing discoveries with colleagues

The MLA International Bibliography is a subject index for books, articles and websites published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and film. It is produced by the Modern Language Association (MLA), an organization dedicated to the study and teaching of language and literature. The electronic version of the Bibliography dates back to 1925 and contains over 2 million citations from more than 4,400 periodicals (including peer-reviewed e-journals) and 1,000 book publishers. It is compiled by the staff of the MLA Department of Bibliographic Information Services with the cooperation of more than 100 contributing bibliographers in the United States and abroad. Such international coverage is represented by literature from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America, and while the majority of records are from English-language publications, at least sixty other languages are represented including French, Spanish, German, Russian, Portuguese, Norwegian, and Swedish.

An index to over 14 million articles in more than 4,250 humanities and social science journals, from their first issues through 1995. Includes full text of articles for 650 of the journals covered. Covers many older journals not indexed electronically anywhere else.
