This resource is designed as an important portal for slavery and abolition studies, bringing together documents and collections covering an extensive time period 1490-2007, from libraries and archives across the Atlantic world. Close attention is being given to the varieties of slavery, the legacy of slavery, the social justice perspective and the continued existence of slavery today.

The Bibliography of British and Irish History Online provides bibliographic data on historical writing dealing with the British Isles, and with the British empire and commonwealth, during all periods for which written documentation is available - from 55BC to the present.

As well as providing details of publications, the bibliography offers links to online catalogues to help you find the items that it lists in research libraries in Britain and Ireland. It also provides links to online text where available. The bibliography is a guide to the work of historians - it does not contain original sources, unless they have been edited and republished by historians (except for a selection of key sources published before 1901).

The bibliography lists books, articles in books and articles in journals. Over 600 journals are regularly checked Material is included irrespective of place or language of publication, although coverage is best for works published in Britain (and in Ireland during 1936-2005, the dates of publication so far comprehensively covered by Irish History Online).

The Dictionary of Irish Biography, a collaborative project between Cambridge University Press and the Royal Irish Academy, is the most comprehensive and authoritative biographical dictionary yet published for Ireland. It contains 9,014 signed biographical articles which describe and assess the careers of subjects in all fields of endeavour, including politics, law, religion, literature, journalism, architecture, painting, music, the stage, science, medicine, engineering, entertainment and sport.

Database of soldiers in English royal armies between 1369 and 1453. Transcribed from the muster rolls and other sources, the database lists for each soldier information including title, first name, last name, date, retinue leader, military rank, function and place of service, annotations.

OEB includes the volumes of the previous Annual Egyptological Bibliography (AEB) combined with the Bibliographie Altägypten (BA), providing coverage of Egyptological literature from 1822 to 2002 (roughly 70,000 items).
