Historical Abstracts covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada) from 1450 to the present, including world history, military history, women's history, history of education, and more. The database indexes more than 1,700 academic historical journals in over 40 languages back to 1955.

1963-

A multimedia encyclopedia covering all aspects of Puerto Rican history and culture, including the experience and achievements of Puerto Ricans on the island and in the diaspora. The history and photographs of the cultural routes pertaining to the 78 municipalities of the island, as well as articles and multimedia galleries on the different aspects that define Puerto Rican culture, are included throughout the different sections. The audiovisual resources included are from the Fundacion Puertorriquena de Humanidades collections and different historical archives in Puerto Rico. The content is presented in both Spanish and English.

2005-2008

The World Development Indicators (WDI) provides a comprehensive selection of economic, social and environmental indicators, drawing on data from the World Bank and more than 30 partner agencies. The database covers more than 900 indicators for 210 economies with data back to 1960. Specific series and countries/groups can be selected for specific year ranges, and data can be exported.

Allows searching across more than 1,200 online journals published by Taylor & Francis, with access to full text articles from the roughly 500 journals subscribed to by the University of Michigan.

The 'English Short Title Catalogue' (ESTC) is a comprehensive, international union catalogue listing early books, serials, newspapers and selected ephemera printed before 1801. It contains catalogue entries for items issued in Britain, Ireland, overseas territories under British colonial rule, and the United States. Also included is material printed elsewhere which contains significant text in English, Welsh, Irish or Gaelic, as well as any book falsely claiming to have been printed in London. The database contains nearly 470,000 entries, and represents the holdings of some 2,000 libraries world-wide.

Indexes over 5,000 journals and magazines covering all fields and topics, academic and popular, beginning as early as 1971.  Provides full text for articles from over 3,600 of these journals and magazines.  Includes a diversified mix of scholarly journals, trade publications, magazines, and newspapers designed to cover the top 150 core academic subject reference areas extensively.

1600-1900

Collection contains full runs of 48 newspapers specially selected by the British Library to best represent nineteenth century Britain. This new collection includes national and regional newspapers, as well as those from both established country or university towns and the new industrial powerhouses of the manufacturing Midlands, as well as Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Special attention was paid to include newspapers that helped lead particular political or social movements such as Reform, Chartism, and Home Rule. The penny papers aimed at the working and clerical classes are also present in the collection.
