Nomination Form

Hello Library Staff Members!

I am Melissa Hepburn, Chair of the Library Diversity Committee for 2007-2008 and my Vice-Chair this year is Annette Haines.  The Diversity Committe has a rotating membership and annually as membership terms end, we have new member elections to fill our vacancies.   We would like to invite each of you to consider nominating someone to fill one of the four upcoming openings.

We are looking for staff members who care about making the Library an even more welcoming place, someone who has the imagination and dedication to make a difference in our workplace.

If you know of such a person, even if it’s you, please consider nominating them (or yourself) for one of the four upcoming vacancies on the Library Diversity Committee. Nominees are asked to submit a statement expressing an interest in working on the Diversity Committee, and explaining any unique qualities that will contribute to the overall mission of the committee (see mission statement below). New members will serve a three-year term October 2007 - 2010.
Nominations will be accepted through August 24, 2007 and may be submitted via e-mail to the nominating committee at ldc-lib@umich.edu or to the Committee Chair, Melissa Hepburn mhepburn@umich.edu The election will occur in early September by anonymous ballot of all library staff and will close on September 14, 2007.

The mission of Library Diversity Committee is to provide leadership to the staff of the University Library by promoting understanding in various areas of diversity, and to collaborate with members of the campus and the community to bridge individual and collective experiences; to serve as an advisory group to the library administration, reporting on diversity programs and on staff and patron concerns; and to lead in the creation and implementation of diversity activities.

The nomination form is available as a PDF document (suitable for printing), or you can fill out the web form below.
