Lunchtime Diversity Video Series Diversity Brown Bag Discussion Remembering the 1967 Detroit Riot This year marks the 40th anniversary of the 1967 Detroit Riot. Please join with the Library Diversity Committee as we take a look at what Library Staff members experienced during this riot. We will also discuss how we are still living with the after effects of this terrible time in our history. Among those scheduled to share with us will be our own Judith Avery, Karen Downing and Melissa Hepburn, who each lived through this rebellion. We’ll also hear from Steven Ward, Assistant Professor of Afroamerican and African Studies (CAAS). You are also invited to share your memories of this event, or your questions. We plan to have pizza and drinks for all who attend this lunchtime event, so please click on the following link to register. If you don’t know in advance whether or not you will be able to attend, bring your lunch and join us anyway. We will share the pizza till it’s gone. The Library Diversity Committee |
