Environs de Paris by Guillaume Coutans

Early map of Paris.

Originally engraved in the 18th century, this map follows the model of the Cassini map of France, and comes from Coutan’s Tableau Topographique des Environs de Paris, a sixteen-sheet map, these being the center four sheets.  The Tableau appeared in a new edition by Charles Picquet in 1800, with the title Atlas topographique des environs de Paris (a copy is held in the Clark Library).
