Ole Miss, the Year Book of the University of Mississippi. Vol. XXII (1917-18)
Faulkner contributed five drawings for the 1920 Ole Miss, quite different from those he had done for the 1917 and the 1918 yearbooks. The earlier figures like this one from 1918 were elongated and stylized, whereas the ones in 1920 were pen-and-ink drawings that look very finished and professional.

In addition to the drawings, Faulkner also published poems and occasional stories in The Mississippian, the student newspaper, and The Oxford Eagle. The poem published in the 1920 yearbook, "To a Co-ed," reveals a young writer imitating those poets he had studied and admired, especially Swinburne, A. E. Housman, Keats, and the Elizabethans.
