Drug Policy Alliance
DPA is a leading organization working to change U.S. policy related to illegal substances.
Drug Policy Research Center (RAND). Good empirical reports, publications, and newsletter, which help inform "community leaders and public officials" on drug problems, including alcohol.

Faces & Voices of Recovery is a grass roots organization of Americans in

Legal Action Center
The LAC conducts programs and advocates for fair and equitable treatment of all

in recovery or suffering from alcohol and drug problems, people at risk

Communities of America
An association representing over 650 substance abuse and mental health
non-profit treatment programs, this group aims to increase treatment programs'
efficacy and efficiency, educate the public, policymakers and organizations
on the importance of research, education, prevention and treatment, and advocate
