Can I find a law by its popular name?

  • Within Lexis/Nexis Congressional select Legislative Histories, Bills and Laws, then Statutes at Large
  • Click on the Popular Names link
  • Click on C and look up Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act
  • Select the check box next to it and then click on the "Paste to Search" button
  • This will return you to the search screen with the popular name of the law
  • Click on the search button to see all references to this law by name.
  • The latest reference to the law is the one you are looking for, 108 P.L. 36; 117 Stat. 800, KEEPING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES SAFE
