Parking Information:

Parking on campus, and thus near the Social Work Library, is very limited. There is on-street, metered parking on East University Ave., Tappan St., Church St., and on Hill St. (between E. University Ave. and Church St.) More information about metered parking can be found at: http://pts.umich.edu/.

Faculty and staff parking (Blue permit) is available at the Church St. Structure (Church St., north of South University St.). After 6:00 p.m., parking is available there without a permit. Students should consider parking at the South State Street Commuter Lot (SC34), and taking the AATA Park-&-Ride bus into Central Campus (no charge). Ann Arbor city visitor parking is available at the Forest St. parking structure (corner of Willard and Forest) and at the Maynard St. parking structure (Maynard St., west of State St.). Additional visitor parking is available in downtown Ann Arbor at the William-Fourth Avenue parking structure. This structure is about a 10-minute walk from Central Campus. For more visitor parking information, point your browser to: http://www.parking.umich.edu/parking_options/visitors.html

Handicapped parking spaces are available in the public and private lots mentioned above, and physically challenged students may obtain a handicap permit at no charge from the Parking Services Office. This permit allows one to park in any of the U-M (permit required) structures around campus. More information about this option is available at http://www.parking.umich.edu/parking_options/students.html#disabled. Please note: the University also offers a paratransit service which provides transportation for students with mobility impairments in lift-equipped vehicles. Information about this service and others for disabled students can be found at http://www.umich.edu/~sswd/

General information about parking options, including maps (.PDF) and U-M bus routes, are available at http://www.parking.umich.edu/index.html
