Scope note: Three modules on Evidence-based Practice in Social Work are available as
tutorials. They presume understanding of the information environment as presented in the
SearchPath Tutorial and are suitable for social work students in their second term. They
focus on a broad range of subject-specific library databases with which many students are
unfamiliar. The search strategies enable social workers to find high-quality, critically-
appraised evidence instead of spending time critiquing individual studies on their own.

Library resources to assist you in three practice areas:

Aging | Children and Youth | Community and Social Systems

These tutorials are based on the Public Health Information and Data Tutorial, modified for practice areas in the
social work profession. There are no copyright restrictions on the contents of this tutorial and users are free to
adapt or duplicate any portion. A pre-tutorial version of Evidence-Based Social Work is available at
http://www.lib.umich.edu/socwork/rescue/ebsw.html
