Do you use CTools and have items on reserve at the library? If so, try out the new Library Reserves tool. A collaborative effort between the University Library and CTools, this new tool provides easy access to reserves information for your students.
The Library Reserves tool provides a direct link to library course reserves within a course in CTools. If an instructor has items on reserve at the library, editing the tools menu will activate the Library Reserves tool. If there are no items on reserve at the library and the Library Reserves tool is selected, a message will appear indicating that there are no reserve materials available. An instructor can request items be put on reserve at the library by contacting the Social Work Library at social.work.library@umich.edu.
Adding the Library Reserves Tool:
1. Using the tabs or pull down menu at the top of the window, select the course to which to add the Library Reserves tool.
2. Select Site Info from the list of tools in left column.

3. In the Site Info frame, select Edit Tools.
4. Use the checkbox to select the Library Reserves tool and select the Continue button.
5. If you are presented with a screen to customize your Library Reserves tool, do not make any changes to the name or URL. Select the Continue button. The confirmation screen will appear. Select Finish.
6. The tool will link to the reserves list. This may take a few minutes. Library Reserves will appear on the list of tools in the left column.
