Scope note: This bibliography highlights some of the resources available in the Social Work Library, on campus, and on the web which deal with abuse of the elderly. This list is not comprehensive. Searching for Items in Mirlyn

Items owned by the Social Work Library which deal with abuse of the elderly, can be found by searching the Mirlyn catalog for the Subject word(s) of "aged abuse" or "abused aged" or the Medical Subject begins with... "elder abuse." Because resources on elder abuse may be found under a variety of related subject headings, we provide some suggested headings below, which can be used for searching the catalog. In addition, keyword terms might be found in the Thesaurus of Aging Terminology : Ageline Database on Middle Age and Aging, available in the library's Reference Collection (HQ 1061 .D63 1997).

The U-M Libraries subscribe to one journal that deals solely with abuse of the elderly. There are also several journals containing articles which adequately cover the topic. However, to find the best article for one's topic, it is recommended that one use the appropriate indexes/databases first.
