Termination of the Crossfire Commander access to Beilstein/Gmelin Databases on 12/31/2010

December 13, 2010
General

The access to Beilstein/Gmelin databases via Crossfire Commander client will be terminated on December 31, 2010. All University of Michigan students, faculty and staff may continue using the new web interface Reaxys to access Beilstein/Gmeline/Chemistry Patent databases. If you have the Crossfire Commander client installed on your computer, please unload it after December 31, 2010. If you are using the client through the library terminal service, you will not be able to connect to it after December 31, 2010.

Since we made the announcement in June, many of you have started to use Reaxys. If you have not made the transition yet, please start right now.  Please see below for basic information about accessing and using Reaxys. You may contact the Chemistry Librarian Ye Li if you have any questions or requests about Reaxys.

Access Reaxys

Reaxys is available via internet at http://proxy.lib.umich.edu/login?url=https://www.reaxys.com. Access is restricted to University of Michigan students, faculty, and staff. If you are unable to access the database with your university credential, please contact the Chemistry Librarian Ye Li .

Using Reaxys

You may get started with Reaxys by going through the Reaxys Research Guide. Reaxys also provides some learning materials at the Reaxys Training Center. If you need further assistance or would like explore more advanced search strategies such as sub-structure searches, please contact Ye Li to schedule an appointment or workshop for yourself, your group or your class.
