Retired Faculty and Staff - Teaching Support
Center for Research on Learning and Teaching – The Center is dedicated to the support and advancement of learning and teaching at the University of Michigan. It does this by providing grants, seminars related to teaching, consultations, and other services.
CTools – A web based product used at the University of Michigan to author course web pages. You can easily link to electronic versions of readings for the course, post information about class deadlines and events, use the Discussion and/or Chat features to provide the class an opportunity to discuss issues raised in the class, and provide a place for students to submit their assignments. The Faculty Exploratory regularly offers classes on how to use CTools. To find out about and register for the classes, click here and then choose Current Workshop Offerings.
You can also get individual assistance in setting up a class web page on CTools in the Faculty Exploratory located on the second floor of the Graduate Library.
Reserve Services – A way to make entire books available for class readings in one location. Journal articles and chapters from books should, in general, be provided in CTools (see listing above.) There is a useful FAQ about how to place books on Reserve here.
