Landscape Architecture Research Guide
Contents:
Multi-Discipline | Art | Science | E-Journals | Endnote & Procite | Libraries
This is a list of resources for research in landscape architecture. Because landscape architecture has both ecological and design concerns, we've included resources for science, art, and also resources that are cross-disciplinary. All of the web-based databases, unless otherwise noted, are restricted to members of the University of Michigan community.
Note: Electronic resources are cataloged in the University of Michigan University Library catalog available via the web in Mirlyn.

RESOURCES FOR MULTI-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH
- ISI Web of Science

Three indexes, Arts & Humanities Citation (1130 journals indexed), Science Citation (5900 journals indexed), and Social Sciences Citation (1700 journals indexed), make up the Web of Science, produced by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). These indexes may be searched together or separately. References used in papers are retrievable, giving the researcher the ability to create broad bibliographies. Coverage goes back to 1945 in Science Citation, back to 1956 in Social Sciences Citation, and back to 1975 in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. New features include saving search history and combining search terms.
- Current Contents Connect

Provides ability to get weekly email updates (based on keywords or journal title) on recently released articles relevant to your research.
- ProQuest Research Library

Indexes more than 2500 journals and magazines, many in full-text. Databases also include ABI/Inform Global, an index of business journals and ten major full-text newspapers. Indexing coverage varies by title, generally going back to the 1980's; only the last few years are available in full-text with images for a subset of journals. All files are divided into 1999-present and pre-1999 subfiles that must be searched separately.
- LexisNexis Academic

A collection of full-text articles from a wide collection of news, business, legal and reference information, including hundreds of U.S. and foreign newspapers, legal and business publications, wire services, broadcast media transcripts, and trade/news magazines. Coverage varies depending on the publication.
