How to Use Resource Scheduler to Reserve a Room
If you want to use a room today and it is not reserved, it is available to you on a first come, first served basis – we do not accept same day reservations. Room availability is posted daily outside the room as well as online. We do not allow recurring reservations.
All study rooms are available for reservations of up to four hours per day.
To make a reservation at least one day in advance:

If this is your first time using our system, fill in the fields with a valid e-mail address and a password. You don't have to use your uniqname, but if you do, DO NOT provide your kerberos password.

You will only receive this form on your first time using our system. Provide a phone number where we can reach you if we have additional questions on your reservation. Click "Save" to continue.

Click the "Free/Busy" button to view available rooms and when they are free. Click the words "New Request" to request a reservation.

Use the "Resource Type" menu to request one of the special-purpose suites on the first floor of the Shapiro Undergraduate Library. For a regular study room without multimedia features, choose "Group Study Space." Click "Next" to choose a day and time for your reservation.

Click the small icon next to the Date: box to make the calendar pop up, or just type in the date in MM/DD/YYYY format.
DO NOT choose today's date -- we do not accept, and will not honor, same-day reservation requests.

Choose starting and ending times from the menus; do not use the "I will accept" checkboxes.
- Do not reserve a room for longer than four hours at a time.
- Same-day requests will not be honored.
Click the "Next" button to continue.

The "Special Requests or Notes" field will be seen only by library staff. Use it for special facility requests like seating for differently-abled patrons. It will not be visible to you or your group. Click the "Next" button to continue.
Finally, review your reservation, then click the "Finish" button to present it for review by library scheduling staff.

Reservations that have not yet been approved will appear as "Pending Requests." When library staff approve or deny the request it will move to the "Reviewed Requests" section.
You may also reserve a room by phone or e-mail:
- Call or visit the circulation desk at Shapiro Undergraduate Library or Hatcher Graduate Library.
Shapiro Undergraduate Library circulation desk: 734/764-7491
Hatcher Graduate Library circulation desk: 734/764-0401 - Send an e-mail message to RoomSchedulers@umich.edu.
Specify which room you are requesting, the date on which you wish to use the room, and start and end times of your reservation.
