Why data visualization? Why now? Lisa Strausfeld, Global Head of Data Visualization at Bloomberg, defines the attributes of successful data visualizations and how they can be generalized to other design media.

Strausfeld was hired in 2012 to build and lead a new team dedicated to creating consumer-focused interactive data products. From 2002 to 2011 she was a partner at Pentagram specializing in digital information design projects, and she was a recipient of The National Design Award for Interaction Design in 2010.

Sponsored by the University Library and the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design.

Emergent Research Series events are aimed at better understanding the various types of research undertaken across campus, particularly as they relate to library services and support, opportunities for collaboration, data management and preservation, and beyond.
