Emerging from the Brittle Books Program in the University of Michigan Libraries Preservation Division, the Digital Conversion Unit is now part of the Digital Library Production Services. While formerly responsible for microfilming materials, we now almost exclusively reformat into digital images which are then sent on for OCR and mounting in our online collections.
