Preservation at the University of Michigan

The group of units formerly known as the Preservation Division has been split into
two smaller separate units.

• The Preservation & Conservation Department , now part of Collection Development, consists of Conservation, Book Repair, Bindery Preparations, and Mass Deacidification.

• The Digital Conversion Unit includes what used to be known as Brittle Books and/or Reformatting, as well as the Scanning Lab and is now part of the Digital Library Production Services.
