As the largest collection of ancient documents in North America, the Michigan Papyrology Collection is an extraordinary resource available to the University community. We welcome instructors who are interested in using our collection in their teaching and we are happy to provide help with identifying appropriate material suited to your lessons. We are also prepared to provide instruction, either to individuals or entire classes, in how to use our collection and resources, as well as provide lessons ranging from general introductions to our collection and the field of papyrology to in-depth presentations on specific materials and their historical contexts.
Our teaching space can be reserved by University of Michigan instructors and others wishing to bring a group of 20 or fewer individuals to the Papyrology Collection to consult collection material. For larger groups, special arrangements need to be made. Please submit your request by completing the Instruction Session/Visit Request Form at least two weeks in advance of your planned visit.
