What's New in Michigan Papyrology

January 20, 2004 - Now anyone interested in the conservation
of papyrus can find out more about the subject through the online APIS
Guidelines. Already this page has recieved much praise for its author,
U-M conservator Leyla Lau-Lamb.
June 30, 2004 - There is a new exhibit online, entitled
Writing in Graeco-Roman Egypt.
Check it out to learn about the various languages and writing materials
used in ancient Egypt. This exhibit is good for younger students interested
in classics, and for anyone with an interest in the ancient world.
May 12, 2004 - Dr. Robert Caldwell and Dr. Ludwig Koenen
have left for Amman, Jordan, to finish their work on a roll from the carbonized
Petra papyri. We wish them a safe voyage and much success!
May 5, 2004 - Traianos has left for his extensive summer
travels to Greece, Crete, Jordan, the Netherlands, and Russia. Enjoy the
trip and fly safe!
May 3, 2004 - The new exhibit, Papyrus
Making 101 is now online! It has great pictures taken by Leyla, our
conservator, which show the entire papyrus-making process from start to
finish, step-by-step. Check it out!
April 30, 2004 - Our new papyrologist, Magdy Aly, has
finally arrived from Egypt. He will be working on the APIS project.
April 5, 2004 - As you can see, we've been redesigning
our website. There are all kinds of great new things to check out!
Check out In The News to see
how Michigan Papyrology has been making headlines.
For high-school students, we have added a brand-new K-12
Resources section to our site. More resources will be available in
the near future.
