Mounted Papyri

Mounted papyri are cleaned by the conservator, then the fragments are properly arranged with the help of a papyrologist. The papyrus is then sandwiched between two pieces of glass. This mounting method allows for easy, safe handling of the papyrus, and it also helps to protect against accidental damage and weathering.
