How to Read our Labels

Stephen Emmel uses our call number, Ms 158, to create, for instance, the following reference: US-MU 158.13 a/b. a/b is actually the way our fragments are sorted out, written in pencil, meaning recto/verso respectively, and in turn for all the subsequent series: c/d, etc. Then Emmel has assigned letters for the reconstructed codices. For instance, TY2/4: 3 and 4 designate the page numbers within the reconstructed codex.
