Emily Puckett Rodgers of the U-M Library has been named a 2013 “Mover & Shaker” by Library Journal, the profession's leading trade magazine. Emily has worked at the University of Michigan for over three years, after graduating with a Master of Science in Information from the School of Information in 2010. From 2010 to 2012, she was the Open Education Coordinator for Open.Michigan, an initiative that supports global learning by facilitating the development and use of open educational resources and practices.

Emily now serves as a special projects librarian for Operations, Research, and Learning and Teaching. According to Library Journal, the award recognizes her commitment to democratic and open access to resources both within and beyond the university. “Each member of this year’s Movers & Shakers class embodies service to their community and a passion for advancing libraries and their profession,” said Mike Kelley, Library Journal Editor-in-Chief.

Emily is featured in the March 15th issue of Library Journal, and will be celebrated at a  luncheon in June during the American Library Association’s annual conference in Chicago.
