Emerson's Complete Works Now Available Online

The Complete Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson are now available online, thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor. Emerson, an American philosopher and poet, lived in New England in the 19th century and wrote many classic American essays, including "Nature," "The American Scholar," "Self-Reliance," and "The Over-Soul." He was friends with Henry Thoreau and Nathaniel Hawthorne, and was a noted abolitionist.

The donor has great love for Emerson's works, and continues to read them regularly. She wanted to have this particular edition (the Centenary edition, edited and with notes by Emerson's son, published in 1903) available to the world. Her concern for the accuracy of the text led her to donate enough money to have the 12-volume set carefully transcribed.

Access the Complete Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson now.
