Anna Ercoli Schnitzer, Disability Issues Librarian at the Taubman Health Sciences Library, has received the 2012 Michael E. DeBakey Library Services Outreach Award from the Friends of the National Library of Medicine.
Established in the early 1990s, the DeBakey Award honors a practicing health sciences librarian for providing outstanding services to rural or underserved communities. The award recognizes Schnitzer’s efforts in promoting cross-community partnerships for underserved populations and her dedication to raising awareness of the health information needs of members of the community with disabilities.
Schnitzer received the award at the Awards Gala of the Friends of the National Library of Medicine in Washington, DC on September 11.
