Buhr Shelving Facility

Given the finite space in the University Library facilities, the libraries regularly transfer lesser-used volumes to the Buhr Shelving Facility. The Buhr Facility is also used to prolong the useful life of library materials since the preservation-sensitive environment maintains a constant temperature and humidity level.

Requests for Buhr materials can be made in person at any campus library. Users can also request materials via e-mail (buhr.shelving.facility@umich.edu), via the online Buhr Request Form, or by using the "Get This" link in Mirlyn.

Buhr materials can be delivered to any library, or users may choose to visit the Buhr facility to pick up materials or to use requested items on-site. Please visit the Buhr webpage for hours and location.
