RILM Abstracts of Music Literature [CSA]
Coverage: 1967 -
Description: An international bibliography of scholarly writings on music and related disciplines, in 202 languages, classified by topic. Includes original-language titles, title translations in English, full bibliographic information, and abstracts in English.

Coverage: 1979 -
Description: A subject/author guide to music periodical literature, with coverage of both classical and popular music. Indexing includes magazine and journal articles, book and record reviews, first performances, dissertations on music, and obituaries.

International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP) Full Text
Coverage: 1874 - (Indexing); 1997 - (Full text)
Description: Indexes over 375 scholarly and popular music periodicals from more than twenty countries, including feature music articles and obituaries from the Washington Post and the New York Times, with full text for recent articles from 42 of these periodicals.

International Index to the Performing Arts (IIPA)
Coverage: 1998 - (with retrospective coverage of selected titles)
Description: Indexes articles in more than 200 scholarly and popular performing arts periodicals. Covers a broad spectrum of the performing arts including dance, film, television, drama and theater. Retrospectively indexes 63 periodical titles as far back as 1864.

International Bibliography of Theatre & Dance with Full Text
Coverage: 1984 -
Description: Indexes journal articles, books, book articles and dissertation abstracts on all aspects of theatre and performance in 126 countries. Includes more than 120 full-text journals, as well as more than 100 full-text books & monographs.

JSTOR (Journal Storage Project)
Coverage: Dates of coverage vary by journal title (all are from first issue to most recent 3-5 years).
Description: Provides full-text access to the archives of core scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences. Currently, 38 music journals are included -- click here to view list.

RIPM: Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals [BiblioLine (NISC)]
Coverage: 19th century
Description: Bibliographic information for primarily 19th-century periodicals published throughout Europe, Russia, and the U.S. Includes writings about composers, performers, and compositions, and provides a documentary history of 19th-century music and musical life.

RISM: International Inventory of Musical Sources after 1600 [BiblioLine (NISC)]
Coverage: after 1600 (mainly 1600-1850)
Description: The most comprehensive annotated index to music manuscripts produced after 1600 with 400,000+ records containing bibliographic information, manuscript locations, and musical incipits. Links to composer names, library sigla, and bibliographic citations.

RELICS: Renaissance Liturgical Imprints Census
Coverage: 1450 - 1600
Description: A database of citations to over 10,000 liturgical titles printed in Europe between 1450 and 1600, with listings of holding libraries in the U.S. and Europe.
Access: Open to all internet users.
