Renewals

Music Library CDs and DVDs are limited to one renewal. Books and scores may be renewed any number of times unless another borrower has placed a hold on the item.

Patrons may renew items from any University Library through Mirlyn. To do this, go to Mirlyn, click on "Login," and enter your uniqname and password. Then click on "My Account." Select the "Checked Out Items" button to view your items. To renew individual items, check the box next to each item and then click the "Renew Checked" button. To renew all your items, click "Select All" and then the "Renew Checked Items" button.

Patrons who are unable to login to Mirlyn may use the web form for renewals. You may also renew books by phone at 734-764-2512 or via e-mail at music.circ@umich.edu.

My Account

University of Michigan faculty, staff, and students may view their University Library account information online by following the "My Account" link in Mirlyn. To do this, go to Mirlyn, click on "Login," and enter your uniqname and library password. Then click on "My Account." From there you can view the titles you have checked out, as well as your hold requests and fines. You may also renew items from this page.

Recalls

A recall may be placed on any item that Mirlyn indicates is checked out. A recall shortens the loan period for the person with the item. When a book is recalled, the borrower will receive a recall notice. The recalled item is due on the NEW RECALL DUE DATE, which is typically 7 days from when the recall is placed. Borrowing privileges are suspended and a $2 per days fine is assessed if a recalled item is not returned by the recall due date.

You may place a recall through Mirlyn. To do this, login to Mirlyn, locate the desired item, and click on the "What Libraries Have" link. Then select the "Get This" link to place the recall. You will receive an email when the item is ready for you.

Fines

Overdue fines for reserve items are $1 per hour. Overdue fines for recalled items are $2 per day.

Borrowing privileges are suspended when an item is 30 days overdue, or if a recalled item is one day overdue. Privileges will be restored when the item is returned. Students with long overdue materials will receive a Financial Hold on their Wolverine Access account for the replacement and processing costs of these materials.
