RIPM (Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals/Répertoire international de la presse musicale) is a resource providing access to music periodical literature from the 18th through early 20th centuries from a variety of countries. There have been two recent changes regarding RIPM.
- The Library now has full-text access to RIPM. When you run a search in the EBSCO interface, you will now see an icon reading "ROA" for all results that are available full-text. Simply click the link provided in the record and you will be taken to a scan of the journal. Note that full-text is not available for all the content indexed in RIPM.
- Second, RIPM has launched a new database that is a supplement to the existing one -- it's called the RIPM e-Library of Music Periodicals. The current installment contains 25 full-text titles. You can read more about the e-Library here: http://ripm.org/elibrary_about.php. You can access the e-Library in two ways -- you can go into it directly (http://www.lib.umich.edu/database/link/31779), as you would any other Library database, or you can enter it through the widget that appears on the right-hand side of the screen when you're in the regular RIPM index interface.
