Rush Request Deadline

2pm (Eastern Time) Deadline

All Rush requests except 1-Hour must be received in the MITS office by 2:00 PM Eastern. Rush requests received after 2:00 PM will be processed as if received the following business day.

Cancellation

Cancel a Standard Request

We will do our best to accommodate the cancellation of your Standard request. The amount of processing done already will affect whether it may be cancelled. Please call if you wish to cancel a Standard request at (734) 763-5060.

Cancel a Rush Request

Rush requests usually cannot be cancelled since our processing begins soon after receipt. Please call if you wish to cancel a Rush at (734) 763-5060.

Hours

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (Eastern Time)

MITS will be closed on the following holidays:

  • Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, 2009: Thanksgiving Recess
  • Thursday, December 24, 2009 through Friday, January 1, 2010: Winter Recess
  • Monday, May 31, 2010: Memorial Day
  • Monday, July 5, 2010: Independence Day
  • Monday, September 6, 2010: Labor Day
Book Loans

Renewals

Books must be returned or renewed by the due date (listed on the yellow or blue bookband sent with each book). Renewals are granted on a case-by-case basis and are not always available.

Limitations on Book Loans

Book loans are only available to U.S. and Canadian customers. MITS reserves the right to limit or refuse book loan privileges.

Lost Books

In addition to the replacement cost of a book, MITS will charge a UM processing fee of $100.00 minimum per lost book. For non-UM books, the processing fee will be $50.00 plus the amount charged by the loaning library. To avoid these charges, please return all book loans to MITS by the date due.

Payment Options

Monthly invoicing is available to established corporate clients. Please contact us if you have a question about payment options.

Credit Card - Policy and Charges

We place a $75 hold on your credit card at the time of order. If we cannot fill the request, the hold will be removed from the card and you will not be charged. When we fill your request, the actual amount will be charged to your card and a credit card receipt will be emailed to you. For pricing information see our Fees and Shipping page.

International Customers - Payment Options

MITS accepts payment by credit card from international customers. To order by credit card, please fill out the New Customer form. We will contact you with a secure login to place your order through e-commerce.
