- Event Type
Kristina Eden, Associate Librarian in the Copyright Office, and Meredith Kahn, Publishing Services & Outreach Librarian at Michigan Publishing, give a basic introduction to copyright, fair use, and author’s rights, as well as issues of special concern to scholars in the humanities, including copyright law for music, art, film, theater, and literature.
A basic understanding of intellectual property concerns is essential for academic authors, who are increasingly responsible for clearing rights for their own publications, or are seeking to do more than simply sign away their rights to a publisher.
The Institute for the Humanities is hosting the Publishing Practice Series – a series of discussions and workshops to help faculty and graduate students successfully navigate the changing landscape of scholarly publishing.
