Overview of Services

While the Digital Conversion Unit is now responsible for the bulk of bitonal and grayscale scanning done by the University of Michigan Library, DLPS maintains high volume duplex document scanners suitable for scanning disbound books or single-leaf documents for addition to the Library's digital collections or for other libraries and non-profit organizations.

Due to budgetary constraints, we have had to reduce staffing for scanning. We may be unable to accept large jobs. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Clients served:
University of Michigan; in special circumstances, external clients.

Suitable materials:
Monographs, journals, reports, manuscript pages that are typescript or not visually distinctive enough to merit color scanning. We do not scan office records.

Limitations:
Materials cannot be larger than 11 ″ X 17 ″
Materials cannot be brittle
Bound materials must be able to be disbound
