Borrow a Laptop Lock

A study break at Mujo or Bert's is important, and so is your computer. The best theft prevention is to take your belongings with you and never leave them unattended. Another option is to check out a laptop lock from AAEL or Shapiro to secure your belongings.

Almost every portable electronic device (laptop, tablet, etc.) has a universal lock port. The lock includes a long cable that attaches to the port after looping through the lock itself and going around a secure piece of furniture. Keep in mind that looping around a table leg is not secure, as a thief can simply lift up the table. You may be able to attach your device to a chair.

Borrow laptop locks from:

  • Shapiro Library, main Circulation Desk (loan period is three days)
  • AAEL, 2nd floor Reserves Desk (loan period is until the next day at midnight)
