16 September 2009 Ehrlicher Room 411 West Hall Meeting Minutes	Social Identity and Role Performance: How Who We Are Sometimes Influences What We Do Karen Downing presents her Ph.D. research: What is the relationship between our social identities and how we go about performing our academic library jobs? Come learn about whether or not social identities of all types influence the ways academic librarians approach their reference, instruction, collection development, supervisory and other professional roles. Also learn more about why some people feel the salience of their social identities, and others do not experience this salience as strongly. The research was conducted over the last year and a half at three Association of Research Library (ARL) campuses.

18 November 2009 8:30 - 10:30 AM Ehrlicher Room 411 West Hall Meeting Minutes	Open Access Our colleagues Melissa Levine, Jim Ottaviani, Bryan Skib, and Catherine Soehner. They'll present the latest Open Access developments, the underlying copyright issues, OA's impact on the dynamics of scholarly publishing, and the role the Library can play. A discussion of these issues will follow.
